One of the most remarkable sights in Tongeren is the Romanesque cloister, part of which dates from the 12th century. It is the last remnant of the former monastery, an estate around the present-day basilica.
The cloister with columns is built around a courtyard. Close to the side walls of this cloister, there are impressive tomb slabs of canons and eminent citizens from various centuries. On the east side, you will find a Gothic chapel on both corners: the Saint Anne chapel and the All Saints chapel.
The cloister and garden are ideal places to reflect after your visit to the Teseum.
